No More Blame - Publisher's Letter
I ONCE READ, “You can blame your parents until you’re 25 – but after 25, you can only blame yourself.” Even if we disagree about the “ultimate age of responsibility,” we must stop shifting blame. Galatians 6:5 urges, “Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life” (The Message Bible). That’s one of my favorite Scriptures because – no matter what “cards” we’ve been dealt – we can positively shape our lives.
According to research conducted by USC Marshall School of Business and Stanford University, people often play the “blame game” because they don’t want others to view them in a negative way. But while some people remain stuck (blaming their families, pasts, society, and even God) – others lean on God’s strength, and turn their situations around.
This issue of CALLED will help you take control of your life, and stop the “blame game.” Start by making the right Critical Decisions, and offering your “haters” Forgiveness. When you read our interview with Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson, you’ll see that we all have our share of difficulties. However, with a bit of faith and creativity, you can do anything. Use this issue to Save Your Marriage, and take charge of your health by learning the Questions You Should Ask Your Doctor. Also, if you want to improve your financial situation, Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half.
God has given you the authority to take responsibility for your life. You can change whoever you are, and wherever you are. So, drink God’s Cup of Grace. It will give you the strength to truly own your life.
Enjoy!
