Every day we are met with distractions that come in many forms. This is because Satan understands that "time" is our most precious and limited resource. If we are tied-up in fruitless relationships, preoccupied with our never-ending problems, and distracted by every enticing "opportunity," — we are unavailable for God's exclusive use.
1 Peter 5:8 teaches:
"Control yourselves. Be on your guard. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to chew up and swallow" (New International Reader's Version).
In essence, we must control ourselves by controlling our time. Every appealing opportunity is not from God. The devil can – and will – send "ministerial" opportunities, high profile relationships, and money making ideas that God never intended for you.
Don't allow the enemy to chew up and swallow your purpose with distractions. God has already assigned you a specific purpose that requires all of your time. You have the power to say "no" to the "good ideas" that come your way.
"Yes" should only be reserved for the "God ideas" ordained for your life.
