Packed Lunch…
With a Twist

BY MONIQUE HART

If the idea of packing a lunch, conjures up images of cartoon lunch pails in the hands of school-aged children, I have news for you: packing lunch is a great idea for everyone! Aside from helping you plan healthier meals, bringing your own lunch to work (or school) could save you around $2,000 per year! (Think about this: if you spend $8 per day for lunch, that’s $40 per week and $2,080 per year.) Now that I have your attention, we present to you five products that make packing your own lunch easy, convenient, and FUN!

BLACK + BLUM THERMO POT

BLACK + BLUM THERMO POT

Why we love it: This thermos will keep your soup, macaroni, and other leftovers hot. It even comes with a magnetized spoon, so children (probably) won’t lose it and you won’t have to scrounge around the employee break room for utensils.

LIFE FACTORY WATER BOTTLES

LIFE FACTORY WATER BOTTLES

Why we love it: One of the best ways to nourish our bodies is to drink water. These bottles come in various sizes and have multiple lids, so you can customize according to your preference. They are made from glass and come with a sturdy silicone sleeve for protection.

SOLVETTA FLATBOX LUNCH BAG

SOLVETTA FLATBOX LUNCH BAG

Why we love it: This bag offers all of the usual functions of a lunch carrier with one special bonus: it unzips completely and becomes a placemat for your meal! For those who eat lunch on-the-go, this is a great feature.

PLANET BOX

PLANET BOX

Why we love it: This eco-friendly line makes lunch-packing and portion-control easy. There are compartments in the stainless steel food containers for each item. When you’re done eating a well-balanced meal and helping the planet each day, you can simply toss your container in the dishwasher. Their website (planetbox.com) also has some creative and fun meal ideas.

MASON JARS

MASON JARS

Why we love it: Mason jars are an oldie but goodie. We have all seen how popular these jars are for decorating, but they are also functional. If you want a salad for lunch, simply place all of your vegetables in the jar (except for the dressing). Store it in a cool place and, when it’s lunchtime, pour the dressing on and shake it up. Voila! Lunch is served.  c
