When God Closes the Door
When God Closes the Door

There are few things more disappointing than having a "door of opportunity" closed in your face. This is especially true when it pertains to something that we really want. Ultimately, however, we have to trust that God holds the Master Key to our lives. As Revelations 3:7 informs, "What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open."

When we submit our lives to the Lord, we also submit our plans. That means, we must be willing to leave behind our childhood dreams, life-long passions, and deepest desires – if they don’t line-up with God’s perfect will. That might be tough to digest, but our lives no longer belong to us. Our lives belong to God.

God wants us to know that a closed door is not a "lost" opportunity. It’s a directive measure that He uses to navigate our steps.

As believers, a "closed door" is something that God uses to make our paths straight. Maybe He wants us to wait until we are further developed. Maybe He wants us to walk through another door. Maybe He wants us to have a different mate, ministerial partner, or spiritual leader. Whatever it might be, we must trust that God is in control. His plans are better than our plans. His desires are more important than our desires. And ... there is nothing greater than His dreams. Therefore, when God closes the door — just trust Him.
