The Highest Level of Confidence
The Highest Level of Confidence

We all make mistakes. – mistakes that we regret; mistakes that haunt us; and mistakes that we never seem to let go. And, forgiving ourselves can be difficult. Not only are we subject to the judgment of others, but we are inclined to judge ourselves even more severely. Guilt caused David to cry out, "For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me" (Psalm 51:3).

Colossians 2:13-14 reminds us that God "forgave all our sins. He canceled the debt, which listed all the rules we failed to follow. He took away that record with its rules and nailed it to the cross" (New Century Version).

Although it may be difficult, let us be resolved and committed to releasing our guilt and forgiving ourselves. Guilt is a hindrance that serves as a barrier to the promises of God. If we do not believe that we are worthy of our call, how can we carry it out with boldness and authority? Let us live our lives with the highest level of confidence that we are worthy of the call on our lives. Jesus has expunged every negative record (Romans 8:38-39).

Jesus declared, "It is finished" (John 19:30).
Everything has been nailed to the cross.

How will you respond to the whisper in your ear: "With all of your mistakes, who are you to serve God in this capacity?" – Will you allow the accusations of past mistakes to silence you? Will you hang your head in shame? Will your confidence leave you?

Remain steadfast in knowing that if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and knows all things (1 John 3:20).
