Changing direction is seldom easy. As children, we daydream about who we want to be. As adults, we devote our lives to making our dreams come true. However, what happens when our dreams don’t line up with God’s plan? Do we stubbornly try to create our fantasies, or do we change direction — and follow God?
Countless Christians are waiting on secondary things before aggressively charging forward with their ministry. But, in order to assertively move forward, all we need is the power of our testimony. The Holy Spirit will equip us with everything else along the way.
Contrary to what many have been taught, God does not respond to the "name it and claim it, believe it and receive it" doctrine. Rather, He responds when we line up with what He names, what He claims, what He believes, and what He wants us to receive. That’s the hard truth.
Finding the courage to speak up when our message is unpopular can be frightening. People might reject us, enemies will attack us — and at times, we will have to stand alone. But in the words of the Chinese proverb, great leaders recognize that "a person who follows the crowd, will never be followed by the crowd."
