Our feelings are misleading and ever-changing. One minute, we can feel one way about a particular thing – and the next minute feel something completely different about that very same thing! The Word of God teaches us, however, that relying on how we feel leads to confusion and instability.
There are few things more disappointing than having a "door of opportunity" closed in your face. Ultimately, however, we have to trust that God holds the Master Key to our lives. "What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open" (Revelations 3:7).
Throughout history — businesses and nations have mastered the art of partnering with external sources. The question is: Why haven't countless Christians in ministry followed suit?
I recently spoke with a woman who was facing a 25 year battle with food addiction. From examining her jovial demeanor and acute intellect, one would never guess that there was a war raging inside. Fear, insecurity, pain, and shame consumed her. At 450 pounds, the physical weight could not compare to the emotional load she carried.
Many people spend their lives trying to "become" someone that they hope to be — as opposed to the person that they actually are. But contentment (peace of mind; mental and emotional satisfaction) only comes when we stay and flourish in our assigned lane.
